Please prepare:
A one-minute monologue; and a one-minute vocal selection (NOT from Wizard Of Oz), to be sung a capella. During the auditions and callbacks you will be asked to do readings and sing selected pieces from the show. You will be given a small amount of time to prepare for these during the session. You will also be asked to learn a movement piece. Please wear something you can move in. Our Space is a shoes-off venue, but you may bring dance shoes (which have not been worn outside) if you wish.

In the spirit of helping the community and empowering women, one of FEW’s roles is to connet with several NGO’S and charitable organizations every year, learning about and assisting in their activities. The January meeting will be an opportunity for FEW members and guests to meet and get inspired by these organizations and their efforts to make our world a better place.

TELL (Tokyo English Life Line) is an accredited registered NPO that has been providing support and western-style counseling to the international and Japanese community for almost 40 years. Resilience is a non-profit organization supporting women in healing and regaining their lives after an abusive relationship. Peace Boat is a Japan-based international non-governmental and non-profit organization that works to promote peace, human rights, equal sustainable development and respect for the environment. Peace Boat is working actively to provide aid in the aftermath of the March 11 earthquake and tsunami.
There will be plenty of time to interact with the panel members, ask questions and learn how we can each give back to the local and global community, so we hope that you will join us for an inspiring evening.
Doors open at 7pm for a light dinner buffet and open bar.

Polaris Project will host our first-ever international symposium on human trafficking. The symposium will provide a forum in which experts and officials from Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and the United States can intensively dicuss their experiences with existing anti-human trafficking measures and programs. We hope to reinvigorate the discussions on combating human trafficking in Japan, and to empower government officials, NGOs, and citizens to re-think our approaches to this issue.
The symposium will feature keynote speeches followed by a panel discussion, which will be open to the public. In the late afternoon, there will be a closed session to allow Japanese officials and experts to be able to discuss issues in more depth.

The Tokyo Yamathon is a fundraising challenge where teams of three or four people compete to walk or run through Tokyo visiting all 29 stations of the famous JR Yamanote train line in under 12 hours. The Yamanote line is Japan's busiest and most important commuter rail lines which circles the capital, travelling through Tokyo's major districts as it goes.

Thwin first fled to Thailand after taking part in student demonstrations in 1990, but returned in '93 to continue his studies and political activities. He was imprisoned in'96, freed in '02 and took part in the Saffron Revolution in 2007. He escaped to Thailand in '08, and, from outside the country, has been working for democracy in Burma since.

I got involved in this Nigerian case with false rape charge through Amnesty International activity 3 years ago. A Japanese woman claimed that she was raped by him back in 2007. Without any evidence, the police arrested him and the trial followed. The bar owner from Africa was sentenced to guilty for 3 years of this crime he did not commit. Why was his freedom taken away for 3 years ? Our society that tends to exclude a foreigner from a distant developing country, is it the issue? Is our legal system working? Is there justice ?
