You can also make a difference by running in the Tokyo Marathon. If you are already registered, you can support Refugees International Japan (marathon@refugeesinternationaljapan.org) or the Tyler Foundation (www.tylershineon.org/index.php/shine_on_challenge/2010/) by having people sponsor your run.
The annual OXFAM Trailwalker (http://trailwalker.jp/index.htm) offers a bigger challenge. Held on April 23-25, Trailwalker teams of four tackle a 100km trek from Odawara, Kanagawa, to the Yamanakako lakes in Yamanashi over 48 hours, raising funds for OXFAM Japan projects aimed at eradicating poverty. Since the first Japan Trailwalker, volunteers have raised almost \200 million. Executive Director Akiko Mera expects this to be their biggest year yet, but they need more than 700 volunteers to make the event happen! Alertnet has a links to major organizations all over the world that are involved in the Haiti relief efforts. These groups are all working on the ground in Haiti. You can find out what groups are doing and then donate to the groups of your choice:

Ekokoro has a site where you contribute to any of the Japan-bad NGOs doing supporting relief work in Haiti. You can also see how much has been given and how many people have made pledges so far.
