Recruiting Tohoku Volunteers (August 26-29)
Four months have passed since the disaster. Habitat Japan has been involved in clean-ups of the debris and mud, demolition, and organizing the evacuees' belongings. To respond to the persisting local needs, Habitat Japan has decided to continue working with volunteers in August and onwards.

HPC is now accepting applications for Asian Participants
HPC has started to accept applications from Asian participants to "the Program for Human Resource Development in Asia for Peacebuilding" commissioned by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan (MOFA) in JFY 2011. The Program in JFY 2011 welcomes 15 Asian participants to the Primary Course.
The Primary Course is designed to provide practical knowledge and skills for peacebuilding activities through the Coursework and, if applicable, the Overseas Attachment. The Course consists of the Coursework in Tokyo and Hiroshima, Japan, which will be held from 19 January 2012 for the period of 6 weeks. A few Asian participants may be allowed to join "the Overseas Attachment" as UNV volunteers at various field offices of international organizations throughout the world, if they pass the screening of UNV. 15 Japanese and 15 participants from other Asian countries are expected to participate in the Course.
