- Dec 3 will be a Global Day of Action Against Hate and here in Tokyo we are planning a “Rally Against Hate” - a collaborative action including many organizations. If your organization is interested, or if you are personally ready to take a stand, contact womensmarchjapan@gmail.com.
- Harvey Relief: I have gotten a few messages about who to support. Many of you know I believe in supporting local community based groups already embedded in communities. Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner established a Harvey relief fund at The Greater Houston Community Foundation. is looking for ideas to support, “Tokyo 2020: Food for 100,000.” The
goal of this project is to create a food safety-net in Tokyo to support
100,000 people in need by 2020. While there are many ideas on reducing
food loss, we are focusing on using this surplus to support those in
need. Send your idea and you might win up to ¥100,000.
Guidelines
1. Project should demonstrate:
➢ It will use surplus food
➢ It will directly support those in need
➢ It is potentially scalable
➢ It will serve those in need in Kanto (Saitama, Kanagawa, Chiba, and Tokyo)
2. Proposals must be received by midnight September 16th.

3. The top five projects will present their proposal at our 10th Annual Food Bank Symposium on October 16th
