GROWN-UPS PLAY WITH HULA HOOPS Spin Matsuri will host workshops by Ayumi and Deanne along with other instructors from Japan, Australia, and the US. The weekend atmosphere will be international and educational, with languages and cultures mixing while smiles and hoops bring everyone together.
Hooping, a fun and healthy lifestyle activity, has enjoyed national TV attention in Japan: Ayumi, from Hoop Tokyo, presented a hoop dance mission on Million Dice in June; and Deanne, from HoopLovers, shared her love of hoop dance on Sekai Marumie and Tokyo MX earlier this year.
In addition, the festival takes place on World Hoop Day, an annual global event that raises funds for hoops and distributes them to needy children around the world. Spin Matsuri will be dedicated to sending hula hoops around the globe on the Japan-based NPO, Peace Boat.

Your help needed and Job openings:
OPPORTUNITIES FOR VOLUNTEERING WITH RIJ: FUNDING COMMITTEE
THE RIJ FUNDING COMMITTEE would welcome enquiries from anyone
interested in joining them: angie@refugeesinternationaljapan.org
EVERY YEAR, RIJ volunteers organize a full program of events to raise
funds and to spread awareness of refugee issues. If you have time,
enthusiasm and would like to help with planning and running an event,
please let us know what kind of help you would like to offer (be it
time, energy and/or expertise) and how much time you can spare to work
with RIJ. Events range from our annual Auction and Art of Dining
exhibition to smaller social activities such as a pub quiz and youth
dance workshops - also we are working on a project to convert a
shipping container into a 'refugee experience'. Volunteers can work
from home or at our office and at times to suit their work and family
commitments. Even as little as an hour a week can make a difference.
And you are guaranteed to meet some wonderful dedicated people and
have fun! Contact: jane@refugeesinternationaljapan.org
