December 2012 - January 2013 events!

Ongoing holidays event:
RIJ  launches its annual Tree of Hope campaign to light up the life of a refugee child from November 27th through to January 6th. The fundraiser kicks off with a festive ceremony to light the Christmas tree in the Karajan Plaza at ARK Hills on 27th at 11;00am.Come and see the lighting of the Christmas tree and hear choirs sing.   Over the following  weeks there will be a variety of events including school choirs, hand bells, taiko drumming, ballet dancing and at weekends a market place where a variety of goods, including hand made jewelry and home made cakes and cookies. 
Rumour has it that Santa Claus will also make the occasional appearance too.  Some come and join us!  For more information contact enquiries@refugeesinternationaljapan.org

Run for the Cure®/Walk for Life 2012 will be held Saturday, December 1st at Tokyo's Hibiya Park. Volunteers will be needed throughout the day ranging from 7:00 am - 3:00 pm. The 10th annual Pink Ball is scheduled for Saturday, March 9th, 2013 at The Westin Tokyo. Volunteers will be needed from 1:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m.
This is a great way to develop new skills, meet new people, contribute to a great cause and be part of fun and fulfilling charitable fundraisers. Register to be a volunteer HERE!

Run for the Cure® is looking for volunteers!

Run for the Cure®/Walk for Life 2012 will be held Saturday, December 1st at Tokyo's Hibiya Park. Volunteers will be needed throughout the day ranging from 7:00 am - 3:00 pm. The 10th annual Pink Ball is scheduled for Saturday, March 9th, 2013 at The Westin Tokyo. Volunteers will be needed from 1:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m.
This is a great way to develop new skills, meet new people, contribute to a great cause and be part of fun and fulfilling charitable fundraisers. Register to be a volunteer HERE!

Peace Boat has been supporting the survivors of the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami in Ishinomaki since March 17. They are still appealing for Japanese-speaking volunteers in particular to help with our psychosocial care projects in the Temporary Housing Complexes. Relief International, an international humanitarian NPO based in Los Angeles, is offering up to $5,000 to schools in Iwate, Fukushima and Miyagi to support the recovery of their music programs through the collaborative "Jam 4 Japan" Music Education Grant.
