Peace Boat Appeal for Volunteers
Peace Boat has been supporting the survivors of the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami in Ishinomaki since March 17. We have made a long term commitment to the community, and we are continuing to aid recovery through a variety of projects. We are appealing for Japanese-speaking volunteers in particular to help with our psychosocial care projects in the Temporary Housing Complexes. Habitat for Humanity Tohoku Tsunami Relief in Miyagi
We are recruiting Tohoku disaster relief volunteers. The minimum commitment is for 1 day and no special skill or experience are necessary! We are looking forward to working with many of you!
*Locations: Ishinomaki city and/or Higashi Matsushima city, Miyagi.
*Tasks: Cleaning private houses, public and community buildings etc.
*Schedule: Volunteer days are open throughout the month.

Music funds for Tohoku schools:  funds available for Japanese schools and music programs! Relief International, an international humanitarian NPO based in Los Angeles, is offering up to $5,000 to schools in Iwate, Fukushima and Miyagi to support the recovery of their music programs through the collaborative "Jam 4 Japan" Music Education Grant.
