Earth Day Fujisawa Beach Beach Clean-up
The Project is an environmental, educational and intercultural
initiative that brings Japanese and Non-Japanese together in a
do-good, feel-good project. It involves a fun, family-friendly,
tangible community beach clean-up and an aperitif buffet after-party
in Fujisawa.
The area in Fujsawa (Kugenuma Kaigan and the coast) attracts over 14
million visitors annually; while Kamakura (6km away) attracts 19
million. For this spring’s clean-up, since we expect over 200
volunteers

Community service and skills building opps!
Training workshops on new media, ICT, and wireless technologies for
social change
Mekong ICT Camp is a biannual training workshop on information,
communication, and technologies for citizen media, community health,
and civil society practitioners in Mekong sub-region.
Participants are welcome from EVERY country and territory.
About 60 participants will be selected from Mekong sub-region, another
additional 5-10 will be selected from outside.
The camp is organized by Thai Fund Foundation and Opendream, in
collaborations with partners.
Two main themes we are thinking about for this camp:
1. Open mobile technologies for community communication, disease
surveillance and disaster relief; and
2. DIY information activism and citizen journalism.

The position serves as the focal point in the Greater Mekong Subregion
(GMS) for sub-regional civil
society relations. The Regional NGO Anchor is responsible to undertake
review and analysis, and
provide technical input and support, including training, in ensuring
the appropriate implementation and
monitoring of ADB policies, guidelines, and mandates related to
cooperation with civil society
organizations (CSOs), focusing on four of the countries (Cambodia, Lao
PDR, Thailand and Viet Nam) in
the sub-region.

The objective of the assignment is to build the capacity of GMS DMC
officials and ADB GMS NGO
Anchors to engage more effectively with civil society through
provision of information, tools and training.
The consultant Regional NGO Anchor will be based for 10 months in
Bangkok (although other GMS
locations may be considered) as a trial to link into and provide
direct consultation and participation (C&P)
support and coordination. The Regional NGO Anchor will support the
work of the existing four NGO
