We hope to reinvigorate the discussions on combating human trafficking in Japan, and to empower government officials, NGOs, and citizens to re-think our approaches to this issue.
The symposium will feature keynote speeches followed by a panel discussion, which will be open to the public. In the late afternoon, there will be a closed session to allow Japanese officials and experts to be able to discuss issues in more depth.

JOB OPPS!
Lots of Jobs, internship and volunteer opportunities are found on the JANIC site

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:
The Tokyo Sinfonia welcomes those who would like to support the Sinfonia with a bit of their spare time as volunteers. For example, we would dearly love to have a computer-savvy person, male or female, take our website in hand and help keep it up to date. Simply posting our bi-weekly newsletters and chirashi on the website would be an enormous help to the Sinfonia. There is always need for help too around performance time for pre-concert preparation, and for post-concert reparation. Interested? You may email us at mari@tokyosinfonia.com, or, perhaps better, phone us at (03) 3588 0738 and speak with Mari Baba directly.

Volunteer bus info: busses leave from various spots all over Japan on a regular basis for short volunteer trips to Tohoku. For people in the Kantoh region there are many types of volunteer opportunities as well as pick spots. http://www.jpn-civil.net/volunteer_bus/

RESOURCES & ETC:
JCN has updated their site http://www.jpn-civil.net/

JPF also has new info on groups active in Tohoku as well as in the horn of Africa http://w3.japanplatform.org/top.html
